General Assembly


The General Assembly sets the strategic direction for Forests of the World’s work, and we want as many members as possible to take part in the important discussions and decisions about the association’s future and activities.

Here you will find notices for upcoming assemblies, as well as minutes and annual reports from previous periods.

General Assembly 2026

Our next General Assembly will be held on 6 May 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (CEST).

Please note: The General Assembly will be conducted in Danish.

We look forward to bringing members together and presenting a status update on our work with forests, biodiversity, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

The General Assembly will be held with the option of both in-person and online participation.
The in-person General Assembly will take place in both Copenhagen and Aarhus at the following locations respectively: VOX, Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø and Mejlgade 53, 2, 8000 Aarhus C.

You can register via the registration link, where you will be asked to indicate whether you will participate in person or online.

Run for the board>> (deadline: 17 April 2026)

All members with a paid membership have voting rights and may run for the Board.

Any proposals to be submitted to the General Assembly must be received by the Board no later than three weeks before the General Assembly, on 15 April 2026. Proposals can be sent to Board member Lisbet Christoffersen at lc@verdensskove.org.

Meet the Board

The board is responsible for the overall management of Forests of the World. At board meetings held every other month, the board addresses current events, relevant policy areas, the organization’s finances, strategic development, and more.

Forest Friend of the Year

It is also time to nominate candidates for Verdens Skove’s Forest Friend of the Year award. The award is presented each year to a person, group, or organisation that has made a special contribution to forests during the past year.
