Action Plan for Compliance with the EU Accessibility Requirements (EAA)
Introduction
We wish for this website to be accessible for everyone – regardless of circumstances,
technical equipment, or possible disabilities. Accessibility for us is not only about
legislation, but about ensuring a good and inclusive experience for all users.
We are aware that accessibility is not necessarily something that can be achieved
at once. It is an ongoing process, where we continuously work to make our content and
functions more user-friendly and accessible.
Statement of Intent
We acknowledge that digital accessibility is an important part of a modern and
responsible website. Our ambition is that all users – regardless of ability level – must
have access to our content and be able to use the site without technical or content-related
barriers. We therefore work continuously to improve accessibility in line with the
development and maintenance of our website. The goal is to comply with relevant
standards and requirements – not only for legal reasons, but because it is good
digital practice. Accessibility must be an integrated part of our design, editorial, and
development work. Although we have not yet achieved everything, it is our clear intention
to make web accessibility a natural part of the way we think and build digital solutions.
Standards and Legislation
In our work with web accessibility, we follow recognised international
standards and applicable legislation. This includes in particular:
- WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) – a global standard for
how web content can be made more accessible, including requirements for
navigation, readability, contrast, structure, and alternative formats. - European Accessibility Act (EAA) – EU legislation that sets requirements for
the accessibility of certain digital products and services, including websites.
The EAA will apply in Denmark from 28 June 2025.
We regard these guidelines as a framework for continuous improvement – not just a
checklist, but a tool to create better digital experiences for everyone.
Continuous Improvements
We work continuously to improve the accessibility of the website and use the four
overarching principles from WCAG 2.1 as a framework:
Perceivable
We strive to ensure that all content can be perceived by as many people as possible –
including users with visual or hearing impairments. This means, among other things:
● Images and icons are provided with meaningful alternative texts
● Colour contrasts are tested and adjusted so that text and elements are easy to read
● Headings and text blocks are clearly structured
● Video content is supplemented with text-based alternatives where possible
Operable
Our goal is that the website can be operated by everyone – whether using a mouse,
keyboard, or assistive technologies. We therefore work to:
● Ensure that all functions can be used with keyboard only
● Make navigation logical and consistent through menus and pages
● Mark interactive elements (such as forms and buttons) correctly and ensure they
can be accessed with focus indicators
● Avoid content that may be distracting or difficult to control (such as auto-play
or rapidly flashing elements)
Understandable
Content and functions must be easy to understand and use. We aim to:
● Write in clear and simple language
● Ensure unambiguous links and buttons with descriptive names
● Provide forms with clear labels and error messages
● Build navigation and structure consistently across the entire site
Robust
We want the website to function well across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies.
Therefore:
● The site is developed with correct HTML and semantics
● Important parts of the website are regularly tested in different browsers and with
assistive technologies such as screen readers
● We update technical structure and components as new requirements or best
practices arise
