Forest Friend of the Year

Each year, Verdens Skove honors a person or organization that has made an extraordinary effort to protect and develop rich forest nature – in Denmark or around the world.

Nominate candidates for Forest Friend of the Year 2026

It is now possible to nominate candidates for Verdens Skove’s Forest Friend of the Year award. The prize is awarded each year to a person, group, or organization that has made a special contribution to forests during the past year.

Anyone can nominate a candidate. Please send a short justification and, if relevant, links to further information to board member Lisbet Christoffersen at lc@verdensskove.org no later than May 1, 2026.

All nominations will be evaluated by a committee consisting of one board member, one staff member, and possibly a representative from Verdens Skove’s volunteer groups in Denmark. The committee will select three candidates, who will be presented at Verdens Skove’s general assembly on May 6, 2026. After that, the association’s members will vote on who should receive the award.

The winner will be announced by email and on the website on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026.
